When you post about a lost or found pet, we collect the information you provide, including:

• Pet descriptions and characteristics
• Photos you upload
• Location information
• Contact details you choose to share

Privacy Note: Your contact details are only visible to authenticated users who are logged into the platform. Pet posts and photos are publicly visible to anyone visiting the website to maximize the chances of reuniting pets with their families.

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain our pet reunification service
• Authenticate your account and enable secure access
• Display your pet posts to help reunite lost pets with their families
• Send you notifications about potential matches
• Improve our services and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Pet posts and photos are publicly visible to anyone visiting the website to help reunite pets with their families
• Contact details are only accessible to authenticated users who are logged into the platform
• With your explicit consent
• To comply with legal requirements or protect our rights
• In the event of a business transfer (with prior notice)

You have the right to:

• Access and update your personal information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Request a copy of your data

Users agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information

• Respect other users and maintain a helpful community
• Not post spam, inappropriate content, or false information

Posted content must:

• Be related to lost or found pets
• Include accurate descriptions and recent photos
• Not contain offensive, harmful, or inappropriate material
• Not violate any laws or third-party rights

You can delete your account at any time by visiting your account settings or contacting us directly. When you delete your account:

• Your profile information and login credentials are permanently deleted
• Your personal information is removed from our active databases
• Your pet posts may remain visible to preserve the integrity of reunification records
• Anonymous usage analytics may be retained for service improvement

Pet posts serve an important community function. Our approach to pet post data:

• You can edit or delete individual pet posts from your account
• Deleted posts are removed from public view immediately
• Successfully reunited pets may be marked as "resolved" rather than deleted
• Contact information is removed when posts are deleted

If you need complete removal of all your data, including historical pet posts:

• We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days
• Some data may be retained if required by law or for fraud prevention
• You will receive confirmation once the deletion is complete

If you signed up using Google login:

• Deleting your Find My Pet account does not affect your Google account
• We only store your Google user ID for authentication purposes
• You can revoke Find My Pet's access through your Google Account settings
• Google profile data is deleted when you delete your account
